Per Rainiers broadcaster Mike Curto, first baseman Johan Limonta was promoted to the Tacoma Rainiers today to help bolster a faltering Rainiers lineup. Limonta, who also plays some in the corners of the outfield, spent the last two and a half years in AA, putting up a .299/.373/.474 line during that time, with 103 doubles, 30 homers, and 16 triples over 366 games with the squad.
Limonta, 27, had been off to a slow start with Jackson this year (1/16 over four games, but the one hit was a homer) and isn’t really much of a prospect, but with Greg Halman out for a month and Mike Wilson ailing, the Rainiers need another good bat in the lineup. Hopefully Limonta can quickly round in to his recent form and the Rainiers’ lineup can start producing. Continue reading
