This is not the number two prospect you expected to see today.  That will instead come on Monday (hooray suspense!).  Today, I decided to put up a watchlist of twenty guys that I’m keeping tabs on this summer, any of whom could jump in to the top 20 next year depending on how they perform.

It needs to be noted that these guys are listed in no particular order.  The only sorting of any kind to this list is who I thought of first.  Not all of them are full-on legit prospects, but they could at least be fringe major league talents or useful pieces if things fall right for them.

2011 Outlook: Other Players To Watch

Despite all of the players mentioned in the Team Outlooks linked above, there’s still a few other players worth noting in the system who are interesting for one reason or another.  So, let’s take the time and see who some of them are.

Seon Gi Kim, RHP, Clinton LumberKings
Kim is an intriguing 19 year old right hander from Korea who made his professional debut last season.  He made seven starts and seven relief appearances, mostly for the Mariners’ complex team in Peoria, and in 61 1/3 innings ran an impressive 71/12 strikeout to walk ratio, including a 7/1 mark in his three innings for rookie-level Pulaski.   Continue reading
